Gortin Group, LLC is a residential and commercial general contractor operating in the greater Charlotte region. It’s owned by a brother and sister team with more than 25 years of combined experience and talent. Gortin Group is a women-owned business as well as a certified minority business enterprise through Historically Underutilized Business, Minority Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise.
Gortin Group engages in all aspects of a construction project from planning and designing to project managing and executing. The team is comfortable walking a new client through a construction process and answering questions about procedures. Gortin Group is also able to work with seasoned developers on large-scale projects.
In 2017, Aivel Gordils and Hernando Gordils, a sister and brother team, tackled small renovation projects for family and friends. Aivel managed the administrative details while Hernando supervised the construction site.
The Venezuelan duo realized they worked well together and formally founded Gortin Group in 2021. The company’s name, “Gortin,” honors their parents’ last names Gordils and Tinedo. And Group includes the portfolio of trusted vendors and tradespeople working with them.
Since then, Gortin Group has managed more than 30 commercial and residential projects under its General Contractors License. Gortin Group carefully manages local subcontractors with experience in concrete, electric, flooring, framing, grading, plumbing and tile.

Aivel has more than five years of experience working with home renovations. She leads the team and can walk you through the remodeling or construction process. Her background in design and eye for detail can be invaluable to the experience.
Hernando, Business Partner
Hernando has been in construction for more than 20 years. He started out framing houses, and now he uses those skills to build a house from the ground up. Fifteen years ago, he turned his passion into a business that focuses on setting long-term goals and making his clients happy.
Aivel and Hernando volunteer with Venezuelans in The Carolinas. The nonprofit was founded in 2000 by the Gordils with their parents, spouses and children. The organization raises money to help Venezuelan citizens and local families in need and promotes Venezuelan culture within the United States through events.
